About Us

The Persian Parade!

The Persian Parade in New York City was founded in 2004 by visionary Iranian American doctors with the aim of celebrating Persian culture and heritage, especially during the Persian New Year festivities. Over the years, it has grown into an annual tradition, drawing participants and spectators from diverse backgrounds.

The parade serves to showcase various aspects of Persian culture, including music, dance, art, literature, and cuisine, while also preserving and passing on these traditions to future generations. Additionally, it helps dispel stereotypes and promote cross-cultural understanding. Nowruz, the Persian New Year, symbolizing renewal, and rebirth, marks the start of spring and is celebrated joyously in New York City with the Persian Parade. This celebration, open to all, invites people to welcome the new year, celebrate Iran’s rich culture, and enjoy its centuries-old traditions.

The Persian Parade Foundation, organizing the event, is a registered 501c3 nonprofit organization.
